Something about skating conjurs nostalgia.

Westchester Lagoon is an easy spot to get to, with plenty of parking that provides views of the lake. In winter, the fozen surface is maintained by the city for public skating. Sometimes it’s a very busy spot, and other times there’s barely a soul present. I caught a quiet day in this painting, just two happy souls.
