A short trip to Juneau promised another gray day to work with! This time I found my way up to Eagle Crest Ski area. On the way up to this area there’s a beautiful muskeg.

I’ll always remember my first exposure to this amazing habitat. That was during a fall season. An article I wrote about this experience might interest you.

This time, with high snowbanks on the edges of the road, I couldn’t get a good view of the muskeg, but I could get a wonderful view of the wall of mountains behind it.
