Arctic Valley is a deep, wide valley between towering ridges and even taller peaks in Chugach State Park.

That describes nearly any valley in Chugach State Park, I realize. Encompassing more than 19,000 sq miles, there are countless valleys and peaks to explore.

This is the valley we have visited the most. While my husband skied the slopes, I would set up somewhere to work in my sketchbook or on watercolor paper.

It was always easy to find a spot. The views are endless.
