Watercolor 10x14” Framed

I love meadows surrounded by trees. It’s an iconic New England landscape, created in the last century. after clear-cutting for farming ended. In this piece and its counterpart, November 1, I was focused on colors; using colors to create a mood. November Meadow 1 & 2 are similar in their palette but each offers a different style of brushstroke, effectively establishing a different vibe in each. This was also an exercise in the power of imagination; they are not inspired by any one location but, rather, a collective image in my mind of a certain kind of New England landscape.
