The Notch is actually Crawford Notch, a beautiful spot in the White Mountains of NH.

Working quickly, whether with pencil, pen or brush, requires a sharp eye to work with several technical concerns all at once: shapes (positive and negative), colors, and brush strokes, to name a few.

Sometimes you nail it, sometimes you don’t. That’s the allure of working this way!

This tiny mountain sketch brings me right back home so, yeah, I consider it a little piece of my heart.
