This piece is part of my Littles project, producing ten little paintings every month. It’s included here because it was created to fit the Patterns collection.

At just 3x5.5”, it packs a huge landscape into a small space! That wall of steep slopes was no less than a half-mile wide, and that’s just a guess! Backlit as it was (really, a southwestern light), it provided an engaging challenge in shadow placement to create the topography of truly steep, rocky, slopes.
