This unique card is based on a page of watercolor sketches from my sketchbook, like many of the other images in my Art Card collection. While practicing “direct painting” I wanted to focus on values: the light vs dark of the pigments used. On this occasion I painted from a friend’s photographs, as the weather was not conducive to painting outdoors. I loved the results so much that it became one of my annual holiday cards.
