Mountain Bluebird Limited Edition Print

Mountain Bluebird Limited Edition Print
Mountain Bluebird’s inspiration came during an Art Residency at the Taft-Nicholson Environmental Humanities Center in Montana.
Flitting amongst the swallows along the base of the Centennial Mountains, the conspicuous cerulean and cobalt blues are unmistakable in the field. That’s what I wanted to capture in a painting. The pose and “stare” were an equally intriguing challenge.
Generally a slim bird, this one was somewhat fluffed out as it perched on a post. Quick as a flash, it was gone, zooming off to a spruce then dropping below the sagebrush, forever hidden from my view.
This work is a celebration of adventure, of the beauty the avian world possesses, and of the connection to nature I so deeply seek.
Only 12 prints exist, #1 having sold right off the press.
