Peaceful Afternoon is an early piece when first learning to work with the medium of watercolor. When I finished it, I recognized that there was still much I wanted to learn about the medium but also felt the warmth of a quiet sunny afternoon coming through the work. One of my favorite times of the day is late afternoon, as the sun begins to set, the slanted light, the way sun hits the tops of the trees in the evening, and everything is going to rest for the night. This type of setting always quiets my mind, especially if experienced alone and still. Do you feel this, too?
