PLEASE ENJOY THE FIRST 2024 RELEASE OF NEW WORK.
The quality of light in the Alaskan winter has been utterly intriguing. Much of the winter here is under gray, overcast skies, bearing a flat light, eliminating contours on slopes and summits that a sunny or even partly-cloudy sky would emphasize.
This left patterns on the mountains, patterns of rock and snow to play with!
When the sun did shine, shadows revealed the topography of the slopes, an added challenges that I happily took on.
A short video sharing the development of these works is available to you here.
